Turkish swimmer Tolga Temiz bags gold in European Youth Summer Olympic Festival

Turkish swimmer Tolga Temiz won his nation’s first gold medal Monday in the 2022 European Youth Summer Olympic Festival (EYOF) held in Banska Bystrica, Slovakia.
“Turkish swimmer Tolga Temiz clocked 3:52.99 in the boys’ 400m freestyle to bag Türkiye’s first gold medal at #BanskaBystrica2022 #EYOF,” the Turkish Olympic Committee said on Twitter.
Italy’s Filippo Bertoni was 0.03 seconds behind 16-year-old Temiz to bag silver in the boys 400-meter freestyle event.
Meanwhile, Arne Schubert of Germany came in third to take the bronze, clocking 3:54.21 in the final.
The 2022 EYOF started with the opening ceremony on July 24 and will end on July 30.
