Turkiye’s benchmark stock index Borsa Istanbul was up 1.47% or 35.71 points on Thursday to close at 2,466.26 points.
At Friday’s close, the last transaction day before the Eid al-Fitr holiday, the BIST 100 index was slightly up by 0.09% to 2,494.37 points.
Closing the day with a market value of around 2 trillion Turkish liras ($135 billion), the benchmark index posted a daily trading volume of 36.4 billion Turkish liras ($2.5 billion).
The price of Brent crude oil was up 0.65% to nearly $111 per barrel as of 6.12 p.m. local time (1512GMT).
