Turkish P.M. Erdogan to Meet Chirac, Schröder

P.M. Erdogan said that he had no information about news that Chirac changed his mind about holding a joint press conference with him and Schröder in Berlin.

Erdogan will sign the contract for purchasing Airbuses from Germany and France during the ceremony in Berlin.

As Schröder gives full support to Turkey’s EU bid, Chirac faces problems in his country and that reportedly was his reason to cancel a scheduled press conference with Erdogan. According to diplomatic circles, Chirac has already been persuaded about Turkey but could not express it publicly because of the pressures coming from his public opinion.

French PM Jean Pierre Raffarin willl also join the summit that will begin at 18.15.
