Turkish Military to Provide Peace and Security in Bagdat

Turkish soldiers as a force for providing stability are expected to maintain a presence in the capital, Bagdat (Baghdad), and its vicinity.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Huseyin Dirioz said that details of the requested assistance had not yet been made fully clear; however, another top-ranking official stated that Turkish forces working in the areas of stability, health, construction and irrigation were on the list of assistance.

Meanwhile, $40 million in food supplies were purchased from Turkey within the scope of humanitarian aid to Iraq, and the U.N. World Food Program plans to buy a total of $200 million worth of food supplies from Turkey for Iraq.
