Turkish-German education for nine schools in Koln
A press meeting was organized by Koln governor Jurgen Roters and Turkey’s ambassador Sertac Sonmezay in the Stephen Locher Primary School to explain the Koala project. The press meeting was especially organized at the Stephen Locher Primary School because the Koala project will first be implemented in this school.
Koln Governor Jurgen Roters made a speech at the press meeting. He said after three years of tests the statistics show that 50 percent of foreign students’ are not so successful in education in German. He said learning both in their mother tongue and German will improve the level of education. He continued that for the project both Turkish and German teachers will give lectures to student.
After Roters’ speech Koln Ambassodor Sonmezay said, "Turkish is the second most used language in Germany, I believe that the project will be successful in Koln like in Berlin and Hamburg. Due to this our embassy is supporting such a beneficial project."
