Turkish Cypriots pointed out consensus

Responding questions of journalists after his meeting with President Rauf Denktas on Wednesday, Serdar Denktas said, "our people have pointed out a consensus among political parties. Therefore, no one has the right from now on to say, ‘I will sign the plan of United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan’, or reject negotiating the plan."

"We have conveyed our views to President Denktas. Our DP is ready for all kinds of government models under some certain conditions," he said, but refrained from giving information about these conditions.

Stressing that they would fulfill their responsibilities in formation of a broad-base government model, Denktas said that he would meet with Prime Minister Dervis Eroglu later in the day to assess results of the elections.

Meanwhile, President Rauf Denktas received Peace and Democracy Movement (BDH) leader Mustafa Akinci under his talks with leaders of political parties having seats at the parliament.
