Turkish Army to takeover SEPF command

The SEPF battalion was established with the leadership of Turkey in order to contribute to regional security and stability in southeastern Europe, especially in the Balkans, and to develop good neighbourhood relations.

There is a rotating command between Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria and Greece. The headquarters of the force will come to Turkey again between the years 2007-2011. Turkey was the first commander of the mission during 1999-2001.

The handing over ceremony for the command will be held in Romania on July 25.
