Turkish Airlines adds services from UK to Istanbul amid summer demand

Turkish Airlines has increased its number of weekly flights from the UK and Ireland to Istanbul for the summer 2025 schedule.

The flag carrier has added two flights from Heathrow, bringing the weekly total to 47, with two added from Gatwick to take the total to 28.

The Manchester route will operate 28 flights a week, up from 25, offering four daily connections, while Birmingham will be served by an additional four weekly flights to take the total to 18.

The number of flights from Dublin is increasing from 18 a week to 21, while the frequency from Edinburgh is rising from 10 to 14.

Harun Basturk, senior vice-president of sales at Turkish Airlines, said: “Demand from holidaymakers in the UK and Ireland to visit Turkey – with its rich culture, history, cuisine, hospitality and stunning coastal resorts – remains strong year-round and peaks during the summer.

“We’re increasing capacity to meet this demand and offer more flexibility for travellers.”

He added that growing interest in destinations beyond Istanbul had also contributed to the expansion decision.

“As the airline that flies to more destinations than any other, our global network spans the Middle East, Asia, Africa and Oceania – all popular destinations for leisure travellers,” he said.

“Istanbul airport’s status as the world’s most connected hub allows seamless onward connections from the UK and Ireland to Turkey and beyond.”
