Turkey’s CRC imports down 18.6 percent in January-April


In April this year, Turkey’s cold rolled coil (CRC) imports amounted to 61,154 metric tons, down by 10.1 percent compared to March and by 7.8 percent year on year, according to the preliminary data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these imports totaled $46.40 million, decreasing by 11.5 percent compared to the previous month and by 9.9 percent year on year.

In the January-April period, Turkey’s CRC imports amounted to 217,524 mt, down 18.6 percent, while the value of these imports fell by 16.9 percent to $169.50 million, both year on year.

In the given period, Turkey’s largest CRC import source was South Korea, which supplied 67,380 mt. South Korea was followed by Russia with 49,976 mt and China with 27,676 mt.
