(MENAFN) The Treasury and Finance Ministry declared on Wednesday that the Turkish central government’s budget balance recorded an exceed of 124.6 billion Turkish Liras (USD8.63 billion) throughout the first 5 months of the year period.
Turkey’s budget incomes nearly twice as much to 1.08 trillion Turkish liras (USD75.14 billion) annually in the January-May period.
The nation’s budget expenses amounted to almost 959.77 billion liras (USD66.5 billion) in the same time, increasing 74.5 percent from the same period 2021.
The budget balance, apart from interest payments, witnessed an exceed of 246.5 billion liras (USD17.08 billion).
Tax incomes amounted to 881.15 billion liras (USD61.06 billion), whereas interest payments stood at 121.88 billion liras (USD8.44 billion).
The average USD/TRY exchange rate stood at 14.43 throughout the January-May period of this year, whereas it stood at 15.65 last month.
