Turkey-US start PKK/KADEK meetings

The US delegation headed by US State Department official Lynn Pascoe which is expected to arrive in Turkey on Thursday evening, also includes officials from US Department of Defense Pentagon and intelligence units.

Turkey will explain the sensitivity of Ankara once again about the issue to the American delegation which will start its meetings in Foreign Ministry today.

Turkish side will give information about the reassociation law process and its results and the two sides will exchange views about elimination of PKK/KADEK terrorist organization in order to provide security in the region.

The Turkish side will ask the US, as the authority in Iraq, to be more effective in the region where the terrorist organization stays. During the talks, the two sides will ”reconfirm confidence” about the issue. Ankara can bring proposals about fight with the terrorist organization during the talks.

The US delegation will leave Ankara in the weekend and another delegation can come to Ankara soon to continue talks.

Recently, US State Department said that PKK/KADEK was a terrorist organization, no permission would be given to use of north of Iraq as a terrorist base against Turkey and that the US would try to overcome the concerns of Turkey about the issue.
