Turkey to sign a free trade agreement with Algeria

Turkish-Algerian Business Council held a meeting today in Ankara followed by a working lunch in honor of visiting Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika.

During the meeting, Tuzmen said that trade volume between Turkey and Algeria was 2 billion U.S. dollars by the end of 2004, and hoped to increase it to 4 billion in three year time.

Recalling that Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan would visit Algeria, one of the most important countries in Africa, soon, since the year 2005 was declared as the "Year of Africa" in Turkey, Tuzmen said that Turkey had learned that Algeria was a key country to open to Africa.
