Turkey to head up Afghan peace force: NATO

Turkey has agreed to take command of the International Security and Assistance Force (ISAF) in February for a period of six months, NATO officials said. After this, Italy, Britain and Spain would take turns in being in charge of the force.
Currently, ISAF mainly operates in and around the Afghan capital of Kabul. Turkey has already had a six month period of command of the force, before it became a mainly NATO operation.
