Turkey to end command of ISAF February

Its mission is to help restore order in the capital and its immediate environs and to assist the Afghan government to re-establish the state facilities and organs.
Turkey’s command of the 4,500 strong force has been extended from its initial expiry date in December.
The announcement of the hand over of command and the extension was made in a statement issued by the Office of the Prime Minister.
“Our command will be handed over to Germany and the Netherlands in the beginning of February,” the statement said.
