Turkey sees 18 per cent of growth in Indian visitors in 2023; eyes over 3 million in 2024 – Times of India


MUMBAI: Turkey, witnessing an 18 per cent growth in Indian tourists in 2023, anticipates hosting over 3,00,000 visitors from India this year.

Indian tourist arrivals in Turkey increased to 2,74,000 in 2023 from 2,30,000 in 2022, contributing to the country’s total of 5.6 million foreign visitors, marking a 10% rise from the previous year.

“Turkey, among Europe’s most-preferred destinations for culture, art, gastronomy, cycling, and religious tourism, in addition to sea, sand, and sun holidays, experienced a record-breaking year in 2023. The country is set to build upon its success, aiming to attract 60 million tourists and generate USD 60 billion in tourism income by 2024. Prioritising market diversity within its tourism strategies, Turkey will continue its activities in current strategic markets while focusing on new target markets in 2024,” the statement said.

Having a successful year in 2023, Turkey aims to build on this achievement, targeting 60 million tourists and striving for USD 60 billion in tourism income by 2024.

The country plans to focus on market diversity in its tourism strategies, continuing activities in existing strategic markets and exploring new target markets in 2024.
