Turkey Runs to the Aid of its Neighbour

A team from the Turkey Emergency Management Office was sent to Iran; a team of 15 people from the Civil Defence Office was sent; and a 30-person emergency health team from the Ministry of Health Minister was sent, as was a team from the Red Crescent (Kizilay).

Other aid groups included: a 13-person search and rescue team, including 2 sniffer dogs and 2 mobile vehicles from the Istanbul Civil Defence General Office; a 5-person search and rescue team from AKUT, Turkey’s Search and Rescue Society; a 19-person first aid team from Kocaeli Higher Education and Health Society; an 8-persons first aid team from Bursa Health Disaster Team.

These groups left for Iran with 3 cargo planes from Istanbul’s Atatürk Airport. They have already begun their operations in Iran.

Also, 6 cargo trucks filled with humanitarian aid (medical material, generators, body bags, blankets, etc) were sent to Iran by road.
