Turkey Protests decision of a German court…
Kaplan is leader of the Cologne-based Islamist Society and Congregations Union, which has been banned in Germany. The ministry also indicated that peculiarities put forward by the German court regarding the power and process of the independent judiciary in Turkey to be unacceptable.
A statement issued yesterday by the ministry indicated that the court’s decision was not in harmony with German regulations directing its fight against international terrorism enacted after the Sept. 11 attacks in the United States. It also stated that the decision flies in the face of the solidarity and cooperative understanding that has been established on an international level. It concluded by saying that Turkey would continue to fastidiously follow this process, which is still being refined.
