Turkey, Pakistan renew protocol on cooperation in agriculture

The Protocol highlights the close and friendly relations between the two countries. It stresses the need to further strengthen and expand cooperation between the two countries in the field of agriculture and animal husbandry.

Main features of the protocol are exchange of scientific and technical information and documentation, exchange of research results published within the respective institutions, exchange of genetic and biological material both from plants and animals, and to encourage joint ventures of collaboration between the private sectors of the two countries for agriculture marketing.

Under the Protocol an Agricultural Steering Committee will also be formed which will prepare its working plan, specifying the tasks to be fulfilled by the two countries and would also evaluate the progress achieved in the previous period. The Committee will have its annual sessions consecutively in Pakistan and Turkey.
