Turkey: Now It Is PKK’s Turn

I hope that this impression is mistaken and that the militants of PKK-KADEK give up their arms and surrender to the state. Otherwise their regret will mean nothing…The law reads that those terrorists, who “did not participate in the offenses and surrendered by himself before August 6,” will not be punished. The second category is composed of “those having participated in the offenses of the terror organization and surrendered to state after August 6.” I suppose, the 14 people mentioned by Buyukanit belong to these two groups. In fact 960 people from prisons applied but as Buyukanit stressed, “the important ones are those in the mountains,” the number of whom is estimated as 5000.

“…If the law was enacted on the basis of a consensus with U.S., the number of those who surrendered is not important. Because U.S. openly promised that she would terminate PKK-KADEK in Northern Iraq. Therefore the militants in the mountains will either be beaten by the Turkish Armed Forces or come and surrender. In other words, PKK has six months at most. The choice is theirs.”
