Turkey may charge for Gallipoli

It was reported that the Turkish government may begin charging a fee to visit the Gelibolu Historic National Park, which encompasses Anzac Cove, the British sectors of Suvla Bay and Cape Helles, and the Gallipoli Peninsula’s Allied cemeteries.

Sydney’s Daily Telegraph newspaper said the Turkish parliament had passed a law authorising admission fees to the national park.

However, the War Graves Commission’s representative in Turkey said it had not received any notification from the Turkish government.
