Turkey: Ground-Breaking in F1
The racetrack will be 5.3 kilometres long and completed in August 2004. It will cost 60 million dollars. Two persons determined by Ecclestone will monitor the project. The Turkey Grand Prix will be included in the Formula 1 calendar in 2005. The racetrack will be completed with the investment of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce. Turkey is expected to host Formula 1 races from 2005 on.
According to the contract signed with Bernie Ecclestone in July, Turkey will host F1 races after 2005 for 7 years. This period is foreseen to be lengthened by 5 more years.
