The lira USDTRY was quoted at 40.4050 against the U.S. dollar at 0437 GMT, compared with Friday’s close of 40.38.
The main BIST 100 share index XU100 closed 0.04% lower at 10,366.16 points on Friday.
GLOBAL MARKETS
Asian shares and the yen held their ground on Monday as Japanese elections proved bad for the government but no worse than already priced in, while Wall Street futures braced for earnings from the first of the tech giants.
VICE PRESIDENT
Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz will chair a meeting of the Economic Coordination Council (EKK) in Ankara. (0730 GMT)
PKK DISARMAMENT
Ibrahim Kalin, head of Turkey’s MIT intelligence agency, will meet with a delegation from the pro-Kurdish DEM party in parliament. (1230 GMT)

The Treasury will announce the central government debt stock for June. (1400 GMT)
CENTRAL BANK SURVEY
The Central Bank will release the results of its Market Participants Survey. (0700)

The Treasury will carry out direct sale of five-year sukuk as part of the domestic borrowing program.
ISRAEL-SYRIA CONFLICT
Residents reported calm in Syria’s Sweida on Sunday after the Islamist-led government announced that Bedouin fighters had withdrawn from the predominantly Druze city and a U.S. envoy signalled that a deal to end days of fighting was being implemented.
CYPRUS
Greek and Turkish Cypriots marked on Sunday the 51st anniversary of Turkey’s 1974 invasion of Cyprus, an event that split the island and remains a source of tension between NATO partners Greece and Turkey.
