Turkey deports Kurdish refugees back to Iran

Turkey has deported several Iranian Kurdish refugees who had sought asylum after fleeing here from northern Iraq, the United Nations said.

Metin Corabatir, a spokesman for the office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Ankara, said the Kurds’ enforced return to Iran placed them at grave risk.
