Turkey: A trade delegation will be sent to Libya

ANKARA (AA) – State Minister Kursad Tuzmen said on Sunday that a trade delegation including contractors would be sent to Libya after September.

Responding questions of the A.A correspondent that problems of Turkish contractors abroad, Tuzmen said, "we held talks with the Libyan Ambassador to Turkey about the scheduled visit of our trade delegation.

The Directorate General of Agreements has been carrying out works on the visit to be paid after September. Our target is not to collect all receivables. We aim at further improving commercial relations between the two countries. Our contractors’ receivables in Libya constitute a sub-section of it. The most important thing is to increase current export figures with this country."

Upon a question about Turkish contractors’ problem of letter of guarantee, Tuzmen told the A.A correspondent, "the banking system in Turkey is regarded with this problem. After our banking system is improved, this problem will be resolved automatically."

Referring to relations with Iraq, Tuzmen said, "our contractors have signed contracts worth of 200 million U.S. dollars so far. They will especially work in the projects of purification of water and irrigation."
