Turkcell Gets Ready for Turkey's Upcoming 5G Tender
Turkcell welcomes the statements made by the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu regarding the 5G tender to be held in the first half of this year and the organization of a separate tender for the Fiber Infrastructure Concession Agreement that will expire in 2026. Dr. Ali Taha Koç said, “We accept the call of our Minister as a duty. We are ready to participate in both tenders and assume this national responsibility. We know how important fiber infrastructure is for bringing innovative technologies to our country. Turkey will be the winner at the end of the tender processes.”
Evaluating Minister Uraloğlu’s statements that the 5G tender will be held in the first half of the year and that the tender process regarding the Fiber Infrastructure Concession Agreement, which will expire in 2026, will proceed independently.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, in his assessment to Anadolu Agency last week, pointed out that the Fiber Infrastructure Concession Agreement will end in 2026 and said, “Its tender process will continue separately, we will hold a separate tender there. Currently, nearly 80-90 percent of the fiber infrastructure is in the hands of an operator. We will see and determine the process and competition conditions there during the tender process.”
