TUI Expands European Portfolio With New Hotels in Italy, Spain, Turkey – Focus on Travel News
TUI Group will expand its European hotel portfolio with four new openings in spring 2026, including three TUI Blue properties in Italy, Spain and Türkiye and a new resort by Turkish partner Akra Hotels.
The additions reflect the company’s strategy of offering differentiated products in established destinations alongside growth in long-haul markets.
The new hotels are scheduled to open between April and May 2026. TUI Blue Pardu in Sardinia and TUI Blue Yaramar on the Costa del Sol will open in May, while TUI Blue Maviss in Belek and Akra Didim Resort & Spa on the Turkish Aegean coast will begin welcoming guests in April. Together, they will add more than 1,200 rooms to TUI’s European portfolio.
New Hotels in Key Destinations
Peter Krueger, Member of the TUI Group Executive Board and CEO Holiday Experiences, said the new hotels reinforce TUI’s presence in Europe. “While TUI Group continues to pursue dynamic growth in long-haul markets such as Asia, Africa and the Americas – where we are actively targeting new customer segments – Europe remains a key pillar of our business. With a loyal guest base and enduring appeal, we are committed to growing our differentiated product offering across the region. These new hotels in three of our guests’ favourite destinations are a welcome enhancement to our portfolio,” he said.
TUI Blue Pardu, located in southern Sardinia, will open in May 2026 with 145 rooms. The family-oriented resort will feature a TUI Kids Club, buffet and à la carte restaurants, two bars, and multiple sports facilities including tennis, paddle and football courts.
TUI Blue Yaramar in Fuengirola, Spain, is a newly refurbished 225-room adults-only hotel opening in May 2026. Situated on the Costa del Sol’s 10-kilometer promenade, it will feature an ocean-view pool, two restaurants, three bars, a gym, and fitness classes such as yoga and aqua training, alongside live music and cultural shows.
TUI Blue Maviss, set to open in April 2026 in Belek on Türkiye’s Mediterranean coast, will include 499 rooms, three à la carte restaurants and swim-up rooms. Designed for families, it will feature a TUI Kids Club and access to beaches and thermal baths.
Akra Didim Resort & Spa will debut in April 2026 on the Turkish Aegean coast with 359 rooms, including deluxe suites and Priene Houses for adults and families. The year-round property will offer extensive sports facilities such as tennis, padel and pickleball courts, and a spa with treatments ranging from traditional hammam to thalassotherapy and Kneipp therapies.
Strengthening Market Position
TUI said the new openings underline its aim to strengthen its position as a leading provider of holiday experiences in Europe. The company currently operates over 450 resorts worldwide, including more than 230 hotels across 12 European countries. The group is focusing on “differentiated products” that align with guest preferences for family resorts, adults-only properties, wellness facilities and cultural experiences.
The expansion builds on TUI’s broader growth strategy. While it continues to invest in long-haul markets in Asia, Africa and the Americas, the company views Europe as central to its operations given its loyal customer base and long-standing demand for Mediterranean destinations.
With the addition of new properties in Italy, Spain and Türkiye, TUI expects to expand its reach among families, couples and sports-focused travellers. The group said the hotels reflect increasing demand for both leisure activities and premium resort experiences in Southern Europe.
By partnering with Akra Hotels and continuing to expand its TUI Blue brand, the group is diversifying its portfolio in response to market demand. The company said the 2026 openings highlight its ability to balance growth in long-haul destinations with selective investment in established European markets.
