TRNC Will Not Enter EU Without Turkey

Emphasizing that it would be impossible for the TRNC to enter the European Union (EU) without Turkey, Denktas said, "We cannot be on the road to the EU under our own signature. We cannot destroy the greatest right of Turkey by our own signature. It means the Turk-Greek balance. That balance is the one that protects our rights and that provides us security."
