Treasury to Repay $70 Bln of Debt Over Nine Months

Developments in Turkey’s economy were assessed yesterday by Treasury Deputy Undersecretary Hakan Ozyildiz in reference to a report issued by the Washington office of J.P. Morgan.

According to the report, the $90.4 billion in debt payments that Turkey will make in 2003 consists of $78.9 billion in domestic debt and $11.5 billion in foreign debt. The $78.9 billion of domestic debt comprises $50.7 billion in principal and $28.2 billion in interest.
