TMSF seizes Uzan Group’s 200 firms

ANKARA (AA) – The Saving Deposits Insurance Fund (TMSF) had seized Turkey’s controversial Uzan family’s 200 firms ranging from media, cement to GSM companies including Star tv, Star daily and GSM operator Telsim.

Uzan group’s companies are seized since the family failed to repay an
estimated TL 7,500 trillion ($5.7 billion) worth of debts, TMSF said in a statement.

Security measures are taken in the buildings of the holding, television, newspaper and GSM companies owned by Uzan family.
