The United States lose to Turkey and miss out on the bronze medal
The United States closed the U19 World Cup in the worst possible way. The American team, after losing in the semi-finals on 1 July, fell in the fight for the medals (84-70) to a Turkey team that was superior throughout the game.
Turkey, who lost to Spain in the semi-finals, showed why they are one of the most formidable teams in the lower categories. Led by a sensational Buyuktuncel, who had 19 points and 5 assists, they gave no option to an American team well below the expected level.

The US team, under the tutelage of Thomas Martin Boyle, disappointed in a tournament in which, from the beginning, they did not feel comfortable. They did not show the same version they did in the U17 World Cup last summer, where they won the final
