In Mercedes-Benz Tourrider, where the raw material was chosen as stainless steel in accordance with the expectations of the market, high corrosion resistance was achieved. Analysis and tests were carried out according to new parameters for stainless steel, a new innovation in bus bodywork. In addition, the necessary applications for the maintenance and repair of the buses at authorized service centers were developed specifically for Mercedes-Benz Tourrider.
eCitaro’s R&D activities were carried out by Mercedes-Benz Türk R&D Center

In this context, the first prototype vehicle of eCitaro; It has been tested for 2 years, at a distance of approximately 140.000 km, for 10.000 hours in Turkey’s harsh climatic conditions and different driving conditions. Fully electric eCitaros, which have undergone rigorous tests within the scope of Turkey’s global responsibility, are in service in various European cities.

Operating in Mercedes-Benz Türk Hoşdere R&D Center, the Test Department carries out road tests of Mercedes-Benz and Setra buses. With the Hydropuls endurance test, which is the most advanced test in the field of bus production R&D in Turkey, the road conditions that the vehicle is exposed to for 1.000.000 km are simulated and tested.
In tests conducted all over Turkey, the durability of a newly produced bus in real road, climate and usage conditions before mass production is determined, while the function and durability of all systems and components of the vehicle are checked. Real-time information is collected and evaluated from each vehicle, which is pushed to its limits with different test scenarios, using special measurement systems through the numerous sensors on it. In addition, the vehicle is checked against possible problems with physical controls and various measurements made in all subsystems at predetermined periods. In this way, it is ensured that the necessary development and improvement scopes for the vehicle are determined and implemented while it is still in the testing phase.
Real-time communication with digital solutions
Virtual Reality (Virtual Reality) and Mixed-Reality (Mixed-Reality) technologies used in Hoşdere Bus R&D Center, which is equipped in accordance with Industry 4.0 conditions, allow R&D engineers working all over the world to work simultaneously within the Daimler Truck global network. allows.
