Taner Sagir of Turkey set an Olympic record

The lift was 2.2 pounds (1kg) off the world record set earlier this year by Sergei Filimonov, who took the silver medal Thursday night.

The Olympic snatch record was 369 pounds (167.5kg), a benchmark set to correspond to the weight currently being lifted by Olympic-class athletes.
