Students stage protest at Prime Ministry

Police intervened and detained students as the protest was staged without a permit.

The government aims at amending the structure of YOK but some secular circles believe that it is a move in order to lift the headscarf ban. According to current implementation, female students wearing headscarves are not allowed in universities.

YOK is among the most controversial organ of the country.
