Stability in Kyrgyzstan vital for Central Asia

"I would like to express deep concern over the current complex situation," Zhang told Xinhua.

"What important is to avoid the development of situation proceeding off the track of the country’s constitution," he said, adding that it is also important to maintain public security and guarantee the country’s peace and harmony.

The stability "is in the interests of the entire Kyrgyz people and also conforms to interests of all sides who hope to see the maintenance of peace and tranquillity in Kyrgyzstan," he said.

SCO has closely observed the evolution of the situation from the beginning, he said. As a SCO member state, the Kyrgyzstan has made important contribution to the establishment and development of SCO and played an active part in the multilateral cooperation with the SCO framework, said Zhang.
