Spain and Turkey dominate Group E: deep wins over Bulgaria and Georgia


Within Group E in the World Cup qualifiers, two matches were played that showed the dominance of Spain and Turkey, with the Spaniards continuing their perfect run.

Spain showed their attacking prowess by defeating Bulgaria 4-0. The match opened in the 35th minute, when Mikel Merino scored with a precise header after a cross from inside the area, giving Spain a 1-0 lead. In the second half, Merino scored his second goal in the 57th minute, bringing the score to 2-0.


Atanas Chernev deflected the ball into his own net in the 79th minute, giving Spain their third goal, while Mikel Oyarzabal sealed the victory in the 90+2nd minute with a precise shot into the bottom corner of the goal, to close the score at 4-0.

Turkey defeats Georgia

In the other group match, Turkey showed complete dominance over Georgia and won 4-1.

Turkey’s goals were scored by Kenan Yildiz (16′), Merih Demiral (22′ and 52′) and Yunus Akgun (35′), while for Georgia Giorgi Kochorashvili scored (65′).

After these two victories, Spain remains the leader of Group E with 12 points, while Turkey is in second place with 9 points. /Telegraph/
