Soros: Turkey Is A Very Attractive Country To Make Investments

Soros noted that Turkey was fulfilling reforms necessary for EU adjustment which were of utmost important for the country’s future. Those reforms would economically, socially and politically improve Turkey, Soros said. Soros pointed out that a correct economic program was being implemented to reduce inflation rate and to ensure growth and said that results started to be taken. The most uncertain issue in front of Turkey was possibility of a war against neighbouring Iraq and its effects on Turkey, Soros said. Soros noted that the United States would naturally extend necessary financial assistance to Turkey to meet its losses in a possible war on Iraq. However, Soros said, Iraqi issue was the most uncertain issue in front of Turkey. Soros said that company management should be made more efficient, economic program should be continued and macro economic balances should be protected, legal principles should prevail in every part of the state, and initiatives aiming at integration with the EU should be continued for a more foreign capital inflow in Turkey.
