David Tijanić continues his excellent form in the Turkish league, helping Göztepe secure a 3-1 victory over Adana Demirspor and climb to fourth place in the standings.
The Slovenian attacking midfielder scored in the match, bringing his season tally to three goals and four assists in 14 appearances.
Tijanić, a crucial part of Göztepe’s squad, joined the club in 2021 for €2.5 million. Before moving to Turkey, he played for Olimpija Ljubljana, Triglav, and clubs in Poland and Saudi Arabia.
The 26-year-old made his debut for the Slovenian national team in 2020 but hasn’t been called up since. His contract with Göztepe runs until the summer of 2026. According to Sofascore, Tijanić is the team’s second-highest-rated player this season, trailing only Romulo.
In the next round, Göztepe will face Hatayspor away, where Tijanić will encounter a familiar name from the Slovenian league, Rui Pedro, formerly of Prva Liga.
