Six hurt in bombing of McDonald’s in Trabzon
The blast, which injured six people, was caused by a home made bomb that police described as being of an amateurish design.
According to Ramazan Akyurek, the chief of security in Trabzon, authorities did not believe that attack was linked to any terrorist groups.
“What is more, so far no person and no organisation has said it was responsible,” he said. “There is a strong suspicion pointing towards an individual act.”
Witnesses said that a young man was seen fleeing the site of the restaurant moments after the explosion, which shattered windows and sent shards of glass flying over a wide area. Most of those wounded were injured by glass fragments.
