Shiite-Sunni Conflict Over Parliamentary Speaker

The second name of the Dawa Party Jawaad Maliki, elected from the Iraqi United Alliance list, has said that Sunnis nominated Misaan Juburi for the post, but that Shiites had definitely ruled out a Sunni candidate.

In a strong reaction to his refusal, Juburi pointed out that no one consulted the Sunnis when Shiites nominated Ibrahim Jaafari for Prime Minister and Kurds nominated Jalal Talabani for President.
