Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scores 52 points in Thunder’s defeat to Warriors in NBA
ISTANBUL
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s impressive 52-point display was not enough to prevent the Oklahoma City Thunder’s 116-109 loss against the Golden State Warriors on Thursday.
Despite Alexander’s 52-point performance, the Western Conference-leading Thunder fell short on the road against the Warriors at Chase Center.
For Golden State, Andrew Wiggins led the charge with 27 points, while Stephen Curry finished with 21 points.
“We need every win possible,” Curry said after the game. “(We) haven’t really developed anything consistent in terms of the win column. So this is a great test,” he added.
Kevon Looney scored 18 off the bench and Gary Payton II had 15 points and nine rebounds, playing a crucial role in securing the win.
With this result, the Warriors sit 11th in the standings at 24-23, while the Thunder remain atop the Western Conference with a 37-9 record.
