Secret Resignation

In the briefing received by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan at Istanbul Governorship on November 17, Security Director Celalettin Cerrah said that Gokhan Elaltuntas from Bingol could have carried out the explosion at the Neve Shalom Synagogue.

However, a MIT officer at the meeting said, "According to us, this man is living. He talked on the phone to his mother after the explosion."

However, this information did not come out true. After the meeting, MIT Undersecretary Senkal Atasagun submitted his resignation to the Prime Minister when his team wrongly informed the Prime Minister after the bombing suicide raids towards the synagogues in Istanbul (Neve Shalom and Beth Israel synagogues) on November 15, 2003. However, Erdogan rejected the petition.
