Second Death in Dakar Rally

A Spanish motorcyclist Cyril Despres died on January 9 at the hospital where he was under medical treatment after an accident last Thursday in the Dakar rally, which is one of the most important rallies in the world. Head of Organization Committee Etienne Lavigne said:" Meoni fell down during the second special lap. Tests showed that his heart had stopped. We all are very sorry." Meoni was married with two children and had announced that he was to retire after this rally, his 13th participation.
