Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka has once again shown his solidarity by helping the victims of the earthquake in Turkey. The 21-year-old, who recently extended his contract with the Gunners, has funded accommodation for 26 families affected by the disaster last February.
Four months ago, Turkey was devastated by a catastrophic earthquake that killed more than 50,000 people, while more than 2 million people have been left homeless by the earthquakes that devastated the country. To provide a roof over the heads of those who lost their homes in Turkey’s natural disaster, Saka funded shelters in Hatay, Adiyaman, Kahramanmaras and Malatya. “When I saw devastating news on social media and TV right away I knew I really wanted to help the people affected by this tragedy,” said the England international.

In collaboration with the BigShoe charity, a group that Saka partnered with last year before the World Cup to fund 120 life-changing surgeries for Nigerian children, the Arsenal player has also funded accommodation for earthquake victims in the affected regions, including dormitories, living rooms, kitchens and bathrooms: “Anyone who has a roof over their head can consider themselves lucky. From one day to the next, the catastrophe took everything they had, through no fault of their own. To be able to help and give something back means a lot to me.”
