Ryanair and easyJet issue boarding pass warning for those travelling to Morocco and Turkey
Ryanair and easyJet have issued a warning to Brits jetting off on their holidays in the coming months. When it comes to all the necessary documentation, travellers should be aware of the rules when on their trip.
The airlines warned that not every airline or airport will have the same guidance in place, so you’ll need to double check the guidelines in place for where you’re flying in to and departing from. easyJet and Ryanair gave an important update for those heading to and from Morocco.
For instance, the budget Irish airline wrote on its website that people departing from the north African country must print out a physical copy of their boarding pass, as digital ones will not be accepted. Ryanair explained on its website : “If you depart from a Moroccan airport, a digital boarding pass will not be accepted. You must carry a physical printout of your boarding pass, and you’ll need to present this boarding pass at the Moroccan airport check-in facility.”
Boarding passes can be accessed via the ‘My Bookings’ section of Ryanair’s website and app. The airline went on to explain that digital boarding passes won’t be accepted in Turkey, or in Tirana, the capital city of Albania.
While digital boarding passes won’t be accepted flying from Turkey, you will be able to check-in for your flight online. Just remember to print out a physical boarding copy of the pass.
easyJet also shared advice for those travelling to and from Morocco and Turkey. It said: “Due to local regulations in place at Marrakech, mobile boarding passes are not available. You will need to print your boarding pass and go to Bag Drop for a document check, even if you don’t have bags to drop off.”
It also warned that anyone travelling from Egypt, Jordan and Morocco with just cabin bags will need to go to Bag Drop before going through security. Extra security checks have been put in place to flights from Turkey, Tunisia, Jordan, Morocco and Egypt to the UK.
