Russia wants boost in trade with Turkey

Speaking at the beginning of a meeting at the Kremlin with visiting Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Putin that while the present level of bilateral trade, currently standing at $10 billion, had exceeded all forecasts, he would like to see in increase still further.
“Our best conjectures about economic development have come true,” the Russian President said. “I agree with the forecasts that in the near future trade turnover may amount to $15 billion.”
Erdogan, who is in Russia on a three day visit to promote trade ties, discuss regional developments and co-operation, said he agreed with his host.
“Our forecasts of trade volume have come true and even exceeded our expectations,” Erdogan said. “I sincerely believe that very soon we will achieve the set goal.”
The Turkish Prime Minister also said that the two would be discussing tourism, trade and economic co-operation, the energy industry and steps leading to expanding military and technical co-operation.
