Roundtable with Turkish Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek
On October 25, the Atlantic Council Turkey Programs and Atlantic Council’s GeoEconomics Center organized a roundtable featuring H.E. Mehmet Şimşek, Minister of Finance and Treasury of the Republic of Türkiye on the occasion of the Minister’s visit for the IMF-World Bank Annual Meetings. The discussion was centered on the state of the Turkish economy, opportunities and challenges, efforts to boost foreign investment and stabilization of the Turkish lira. The roundtable was moderated by GeoEconomics Center Deputy Director and C. Boyden Gray Senior Fellow Charles Lichfield, with welcoming remarks by the Chairman of the board of the Atlantic Council John F.W. Rogers, and the participation of Atlantic Council President and CEO Frederick Kempe.
