Renault Unveils Turkish-produced Megane II Sedan
Menard said that Megane production had been awarded to Turkey because of Renault’s confidence in the country. Stating that they considered the factory in Bursa to be one of the best Renault factories in the world, Menard mentioned that the Megane II sedan would be sold in 75 countries around the world beginning in September. He stated that they planned to increase the production capacity of Megane in Turkey to 100,000 units, with 80 percent of it earmarked for export.
Renault Mais General Manager Ibrahim Aybar said that to date they had sold 67,000 Meganes. Pointing out that they would introduce the import-model Megane at the end of May, Aybar noted that they expected a significant increase in Megane sales along with the local model sedan slated to enter the market in September. Aybar said that the Megane sedan would continue to be their best-selling car after the Clio Symbol.
