Red crescent sends humanitarian aid to Iraq

Red Crescent Chairman Ertan Gonen said that 500 tents, 5 thousand blankets, 2 thousand mattresses, 500 stoves, 500 hygienic sets, 500 packages of food and 148 parcels of medicine and medical equipment were sent to Iraq to be distributed to 2 thousand 500 families.

Gonen noted that the humanitarian aid would be handed over to Iraqi Red Crescent at the border and stated that aid would be distributed in Baghdad by Turkish and Iraqi Red Crescent.

Pointing out that the Red Crescent would sent humanitarian aid to Iraq for four times in certain intervals, Gonen said that the second consignment would be dispatched to Kirkuk.

Gonen added that humanitarian aid sent to Iraq was worth of TL 519 billion 621 million.
