Ramallah: Palestinians indifferent to US elections
For them, there is no difference between the Republican candidate, the current president George W. Bush, and the Democrat candidate John F. Kerry as they believe neither of them will change US policy on Israel. However, they said that at least they know Bush’s administration policy, and the known is better than the unknown.
"I think Kerry will do much the same as Bush. If I were to vote for a US president, I would not vote Kerry, only to give him four years in office to pursue some unclear policy. The attitude of the Bush administration towards Palestine is known," a Palestinian said.
"Both sides are the same, but I would vote for Bush because he has a clear policy," a Palestinian said.
"I would vote for Bush because Kerry will not be much better than Bush. The situation is already bad and we do not want it to get worse," a Palestinian said.
A Palestinian said, "They (Bush and Kerry) are like Coca Cola and Pepsi, there is no difference, nothing good for the Palestinian people."
"The US have always been against us, they never helped us. For this reason, I don’t want either of them," a Palestinian said.
"They are all the same, the United States is only loyal to the Israeli administration," another Palestinian said.
"Both Bush and Kerry support Israel’s cause and we need someone to support the Palestinian cause," a Palestinian said.
"No matter who wins the elections, it is no good for us. They will not help us. Palestinians are all alone against Israel," another Palestinian said.
