Rahvan Equestrian Turkey Championship, organized under the coordination of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality with the participation of nearly 200 pacing horses and 150 athletes from different regions of Turkey, witnessed competitive races.

Rahvan Equestrian Turkey Championship, hosted by Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, organized by the Turkish Traditional Equestrian Sports Federation and Bursa Rahvan and Racehorse Breeders and Riders Sports Club Association, with the participation of nearly 200 pacing horses and 150 athletes, the Metropolitan Municipality Products Traditional Equestrian Sports Club. Races with intense participation; World Ethnosport Confederation President Bilal Erdoğan, MHP Secretary General İsmet Büyükataman, Turkish Traditional Sports Federation Board Member Zübeyir Bekiroğlu, Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Murat Demir, Metropolitan Municipality Secretary General Ulaş Akhan, Osmangazi Mayor Mustafa Dündar, Yıldırım Mayor Oktay Yılmaz, AK Party Provincial Chairman Davut Gürkan, MHP Provincial Chairman Cihangir Kalkancı and many sports fans also watched. The races held in the categories of Imported A, Imported B, Triple Colt, Quad Colt, Deck, Small Medium, Large Medium, Head and Head were the scene of great competition. The athletes, who showed all the skills of the Rahvan horses, fought hard to be the first.

Bilal Erdoğan, President of the World Ethnosports Confederation, said that ‘by increasing the number of traditional sports federations from one to four in Turkey’, an environment for dealing with the same number of sports under more favorable conditions was created. Stating that they are making an effort to bring all branches to ‘the masses who have not met these sports’, Erdoğan said, “The work we work for is the work of the country. After all, we are trying to keep our own culture alive and pass it on to new generations. God bless everyone involved in the work of the country. Rahvan horses are the horses of Anatolia and Turks. For centuries, it has been the best confidant of man in this land. We must restore our wealth to its former glory. We should carry out studies that will contribute to the breeding, enrichment and promotion of our own horse breeds. I would like to thank those who contributed to the organization of the tournament.”

MHP Secretary General and Bursa Deputy İsmet Büyükataman congratulated the athletes in various parts of Turkey who put their heart and effort into this sport. Expressing that they are very happy to see the horse lovers who participated in the Turkish Championship with their success in Bursa, Büyükataman wished success to all his friends in the championship.

Zübeyir Bekiroğlu, a member of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Traditional Sports Branches Federation, reminded that traditional sports make a journey from the past to the future. Explaining that they are very happy to organize Rahvan Equestrian Turkey Championship, one of these journeys, in Bursa, Bekiroğlu thanked the Metropolitan Municipality and İsmet Büyükataman for hosting.

Deputy Mayor of Metropolitan Municipality Murat Demir said that ancestral sports came to Anatolia from the great Turkistan and are among the important cultural values ​​that continue to live. Stating that it is necessary to protect the sports branches that represent the spirit of unity of the Turkish Nation, Demir said, “We are working to carry these sports to the future by supporting them, which are the values ​​of our culture. Bursa has been hosting a historical tradition and heritage for many years. Rahvan horses have been the favorite breed of cavalry and horse riders for centuries with their gait and nobility. I congratulate the contestants who sweated in 9 different categories in the Turkish Championship”.

At the end of the races that continued throughout the day, medals and cups were given to the horse owners and athletes by the protocol members.
